why i cant trace any of the microsoft site in windows xp?
why i cant trace any of the microsoft site in windows xp?
i mean i cant connect if im connect its appears like i dont have an internet connection
in any microsoft site
Open your HOSTS file in Notepad (c:/windows/system32/drivers/etc/HOSTS). It should have these two lines:
127.0.0.1 localhost
::1 localhost #[IPv6]
Any other lines should start with "#" which tells the system to ignore them since they are for your information only. If you have a line with "microsoft.com" in it, that may be your problem. You may have malware that did that. Have you scanned your system with a good malware program like Microsoft Security Essentials? Have you kept your system up to date via Windows Update?
hmm is sfc /scannow can fix this??
its my companies desktop that is maybe crush or something..
but before i use that pc it was already reformatted
so maybe the setting is the problem and not by the virus ..
Os:windows xp 32bit..
i will do ur recommendation asap .please keep in touch..

Did you say that it only affects Microsoft sites and all other websites work? There is no "setting" just to block Microsoft.com, however some malware block Microsoft sites to prevent Windows Update from working and to prevent you from downloading their free antivirus tools. So the important question is whether or not Microsoft sites are the only ones you cannot get to.
