Can't download .mp3 files anymore in either browser

Hi there, I'm sorry to be annoying people here but I have a problem and I was wondering if someone can help me with it.

So, I have an habit of downloading Podcasts to listen to, and these podcasts are usually available to download via direct .mp3 file links.

However, for some reason, lately I can't do it anymore, be it with Firefox, Chrome or Internet Explorer, I can't download my .mp3 Podcast files anymore.

I can download any other file types fine.

These are the sites were I can no longer download or play MP3 files from:

    Retronauts Video Game Podcast
    Episode 14: Oddworld: Abe's*Oddysee - Watch Out for Fireballs! - Duckfeed.tv
...and any other site with an mp3 in.

However, strangely, I can still download files from here:

Keepin' It Reel: The IGN Movies Podcast

I suspect Malware, and I did got a warning from Avira for a fellow named TR/Spy.ZBot.dpttnma but I haven't found anything on it in the web.

I already searched the registry for anything in the Run folders, msconfig, processes and services but nothing. I also only had the time to run a quick scan on the system and found only that malware in some kind of setup file.

I also tried Free Download Manager but to no avail.

Can anyone help me with this, please?

    Thank you

EDIT: I just downloaded and installed the trial version of MalwareBytes Anti-Malware. Let's see how this goes...

Same problem for me on those two sites: "This error (HTTP 404 Not Found) means that Internet Explorer was able to connect to the website, but the page you wanted was not found. It's possible that the webpage is temporarily unavailable. Alternatively, the website might have changed or removed the webpage."

The first site gave me the error "The requested URL /flat/retronauts/r042612.mp3 was not found on this server.", this is a problem with there site I guess because I did find a work around.

In the address bar it'll looked like "http://podcast.the1upnetwork.com/flat/retronauts/r042612.mp3" I deleted everything after the .com and it loaded an Index page with a list of folders containing the files which I then inspected the URL for one and it didn't have "/flat" in it.

I deleted that but it still didn't work but I noticed "retronauts/r042612" had capital R's so in the end I deleted "/flat" replaced the 2 r's with capital R's and it worked.

    Original URL - http://podcast.the1upnetwork.com/fla...ts/r042612.mp3
    New URL - http://podcast.the1upnetwork.com/Retronauts/R042612.mp3

Can't help with the 2nd link though.

    keeperxiii,

    First:
Windows Defender IS NOT Windows Defender Offline.

Now why did I say that? because:
Click on the WDO (Windows Defender Offline) link in my signature.

Follow the instructions there. I recommend installing to USB. WDO will run a quick scan. When the quick scan finishes, then run a FULL scan of ALL of your drives.

Windows Defender Offline is an OFFLINE malware-remover.

Thank you all for your help!

    roncerr and Duzzy:

I tried the new URL and it worked! This is so weird. Could it be some kind of problem with the 2 websites? Maybe the 2nd podcast site I can understand but it's weird that 1UP would have this kind of problem.

I will try again tomorrow. It could be server troubles. As for the 2nd site, I don't know (and I will try again later as I can't right now).

    karlsnooks:

Thank you for that. I already download it and will try that as soon as I get back home and find an empty USB pen.

    Again, thank you all. :)

EDIT: Ok, from the second site, I changed the URL like this:

    http://www.podtrac.com/pts/redirect..../woff_E014.mp3
    to
    content.duckfeed.tv/woff/woff_E014.mp3

    and it worked.

EDIT: Could someone tell me if it could be related to the sites being North America/England based? Could it be that because I'm from another country there is some kind of problem downloading the files?

If this is some kind of regional problem I should send an e-mail to those websites otherwise international listeners won't be able to listen to them.

Like roncerr suggested and I kind of did in my first paragraph the sites were temporarily experiencing problems. I could not find a work around for the second yesterday but today I can download from both without a work around. So there is no regional issues it was just temporary problems.

Anyway I was happy to have a found a work around for the first site yesterday for you.

As for the TR/Spy.ZBot.dpttnma that Avira found it could be a false positive but that is not really my area. If MalwareBytes and/or Windows Defender Offline also detect it in the same file then I would consider it true.
