    Hotmail Outgoing Issue

I can't get an email client to send out mail via POP or SMTP from this page for a hotmail account. What is a working POP / SMTP login details for hotmail ?

What email client? If WLM, Hotmail uses HTTP protocol not the usual POP/SMTP. As it says in the page you linked to: "...so you only have to select HTTP when you are asked to select your email account type and select Hotmail as the HTTP Mail Service Provider."

The FireFox add-on simple mail. It doesn't have an option for HTTP protocol.

So you want to use Hotmail with POP3 access. Try to Google "hotmail pop3 windows 7". Not sure if it's possible to do that; I don't have a Hotmail address since I have an old msn.com address that did allow pop3/smtp access. I use that address only for my LiveID. I would think you should be able to send and receive email using Firefox directly as a browser without a special email plugin. That is the original purpose of the http mail protocol.

Just a thought: The Hotmail website has a place where you can choose only secure (https) access. But if you want to use the normal pop/smtp settings with a client other than WLM, you may have to uncheck that option. (I don't think https is the default, but perhaps someone changed it.)
