Windows Live Mail Running But Window Won't Open

Sometimes I have a problem with Windows Live Mail which I usually leave running all the time the computer is on. From time to time when WLM is running, I click the icon in the taskbar and the the WLM window will not open. The only solution seems to be to right click the icon, select close and launch WLM again. Does anyone know what might be causing this and if there is an easier solution to closing and relaunching which takes a long time to fully load? Your thoughts would be appreciated.

    Kind Regards

Try a repair of "Windows Live Essentials"
    Control Panel
    Programs and Features.
    Select Uninstall/change
Choose repair it will repair all the installed components that you got installed of live.

Thank you for this suggestion. This problem only happens occasionally and is hard to reproduce and so I am not sure what is causing it. A repair installation might help, and I could try that. However I believe the problem may be caused due to graphics issues.

I have seen this complaint before. It seems that the common thing was that there were multiple instances of WLMAIL.EXE running. Next time it happens, open task manager and see if there are more then one. If so, right click on one and end the process. See if the tray icon now works. Unfortunately, the "fix" I have seen is to right click the tray icon and close, then reopen. A Guy

Thanks for your comments. Its quite possible this is the reason. I will test this out next time this happens.

    Kind Regards
