Windows 7: chrome renderer process limit

Windows 7 32 bit
chrome renderer process limit

Just wondering if anyone is playing around with chrome command line switch

I'm running chromium 21.x and by default I seem to run a process per tab, plus a process per enabled extension, plus one or two more.

Currently I'm using --renderer-process-limit=4

Now it seems no mappter how many tabs I have open or enabled extensions, it doesn't go above 7 running chrome.exe processes in Task Manager.

I don't notice any slowdown.

Anyone else experimenting with this setting?

Windows 7 Professional x64

there's also another switch to run it all in 1 process...

I'm gonna test both of these.

There are switches also for process per site and such.

Shutting down chrome completely so no background process will run
There is a setting to do this. What is chrome running in the background? Because if I install Chrome, then it causes my HDTV streaming to glitch, break up, pixelate. And when I uninstall chrome, the streaming is again smooth. If I uncheck this, can I use chrome?
