I uninstalled both KB2675157 and KB2699988 and never had the DFX audio enhancer program on my PC and have the same exact behavior on my PC running Windows 7 64bit as the other folks have outlined. Thanks in advance.
So it could very well be the performance of the "Analysis" scripts that run on these sites (I've had this problem in the past many times). It can be troubleshot with tools like fiddler, but an easy test is to check the task manager to see if IE consumes more than a few % of CPU when visiting these sites initially, and/or if a browser like Chrome displays the same issue.
I've run into things like this many time with the scripts run on these sites used to determine who you are, what you do on the site, etc. I'm not saying this is the case for sure, but it does sound familiar.
Thanks, I checked the CPU % and nothing above 1-2% showing when trying to access these sites. I still think it has to do with an MS update, as the other people in my original thread indicated. I did back out the 2 updates I previously mentioned, still have the same problem. No issues on my iPad or using Chrome on this PC.......

Well, if you've removed the updates, the binaries should no longer be there. That's a pretty good indication it isn't those specific updates :).
Unless the update specifically required you to set something in the registry to turn it on (which would still only be useful if that update was applied...), then the answer should be no. Not only that, but these are cumulative updates (April and June, respectively), so if you install the June update, you get the April bits as well.
Is this happening under IE9, by chance?
Would it be possible for you to take a fiddler trace of the problem? I suppose I should write a tutorial, but here's the nutshell version:
Attach or upload the resulting .saz file and I'll take a look.
- Download/install Fiddler2 from here
- Open Fiddler2 from the start menu
- Click the "Clear Cache" button on the Fiddler toolbar to clear the IE cache (you may have to wait a few seconds for this to finish)
- Click the "Browse" button on the Fiddler toolbar to open a blank IE window
- In the new blank IE window, browse to www.google.com
- Once the site loads (if it loads at all), go back to the Fiddler window and click File > Save > All Sessions
