Google search results in blank window

This is one of those out-of-the-blue things that just started the other day.

When I do a Google search, I'll get the first page of results no problem. If I click on any of the search suggestions at the bottom or click to go to the next page of results, the screen goes blank and that's that. Refreshing the page doesn't do anything either. I can open the search results themselves no problem, but anything that involves further searching from the first page doesn't work.

This just happens in IE9, it works normally in Firefox no probs. Also, this is only happening on my Win7/64 laptop. On my Win7/32 desktop all is a-okay.

I've tried emptying the temporary files/cookies etc. with CCleaner, and tried it in Private mode as well where the cache and cookies are bypassed. Finally I then tried resetting IE (Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Reset). No dice.

I can drag page links from the results page up to the tab bar and drop them there and they will open that way (in other words, to go to the next page of links I can click and hold the "Next >" link or one of the page numbers at the bottom, drag it up to the tab bar and release and the next page will open in a tab.)

Have you tried uninstalling IE9 to see if the problem shows up in IE8? Once IE8 is working you can start over again with a new download and install of IE9.

    Thanks for your input, roncerr

I was trying to avoid having to uninstall or reinstall IE or reverting to a previous version since it appears to be a complex process and I didn't want to muck anything else up, lol.

As it happens, last night I tried disabling Google's Instant Prediction option and that seems to have fixed the issue. It has always worked before, so I don't know why all of a sudden it went buggy...but glad it's solved, it was annoying as hell.
