Windows Live Mail has stopped working

When I try and connect to my live mail I get a box come up with the words "Windows Live Mail has stopped working". There is a prompt to "Check online for a solution and close the program". When I do this nothing happens. I am running Windows 7 Home Edition 64bit system. Any ideas?

    Welcome to Seven forums BriUnderwood

    * Did you already try a repair of windows live?

    1. Control Panel
    2. Programs - Uninstall a program
    3. Windows live essentials
    4. Click uninstall/change
    5. Repair all windows live programs

Keep us posted for further suggestions.

*Also, run a SFC scannow and restart if violations are found.
SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Thanks, but how do I export emails and contacts if I cannot open Windows Live mail. Is there another way of accessing all the files?

Your " Show hidden files and folders " option needs to be enabled.

Start > in the search box, type folder options > Enter > click View > click at the dot in front of " Show hidden files and folders " > OK when done.

Now go back to your previous search.....
    C:\Users\(your username)\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail
