    Chrome is faster FF has more add ins. I use both.

    Firefox is better if you like add ons, but Chrome is definitely faster, and has it's share of add ons, so I'd say Chrome wins overall.

    For me it's noticeable, but not by that much. Except in startup, Chrome blows FF out of the water for me on startup.

    Chrome certainly starts faster and feels faster if you don't have too many add-ins. The big downside of Chrome is the memory it uses when you have a number of add-ins and tabs open. Each add-in, plugin and tab has its own process and shares very little. This is good for speed, security and recovery from crashes(very few even on beta or dev) but poor for memory use.

    Have you thought of Opera? Fast, reliable and easy to "learn". If privacy is an issue for you I would suggest Iron Browser.

    I like Opera the most still, although Chrome is quicker.
    I haven't liked FF since the 2.x days, before it became bloated. It was so snappy then.
