E mail access from different places?
Got an internet/e mail account from Provider A.
pop.xxx.nl - normal - port 25 smtp.xxx.nl - safe to specific port TLS - port 995 Works fine at my home. Got a cottage with an internet account from Provider B. pop.xxx.nl - normal - port 25 - works OK smtp.xxx.nl - does not work whatever I try: other ports, other smtp settings etc. Saw a msg flash by about first having to login. But the software should do that automatically... Does this mean I cannot address A through B? Webmail works OK to A of course, but I prefer using the same e mail software (The Bat!). Anyone? |

For me, I expected it to work as for you...
After a lot of trying I finally found something that works: entry is smtp.xxxx.nl clicked the box next to it "authentication" new screen opened checked the box "execute SMTP authentication (RFC2554)" checked the box "use specific settings" then I could enter user/password OK Now the entry " smtp.xs4all.nl" has changed to "smtp.xs4all.nl / user = XXXX" Dunno why this did the trick, but I'm glad my worries are over ! ![]() |
