    page loading/ website

I have a farliy new laptop every once in a while when I open another tab and go to a website it won't load and if I try to close it I get a message saying "this window is busy. closing this window might cause problems" so I wait then after about 5 minutes I close it. So I thought it was the computer.
Today I got a new desk top and I get the same thing. What could it be the wifi?? or is it windows 7 this never happened with my old desktop running XP

When you say it wont load do you get an error message at all? Does refreshing the page (F5) cause the page to load?

I assume you are using IE, I would suggest Chrome or Firefox.

Pages failing to load can be caused by the wifi, if this is a frequent problem you could try changing the channel your wifi uses. Some routers have a feature that will autofind the best channel with the least interference.

Sorry for the delay in replying. If resetting the router (power off for a few mins and allow to cool) then powering back up, waiting for everything to re-connect resolve the problem for a little while. Often home routers just get buggy after a while. However I cannot really comment further unless you provide hardware details.

Do you get this with the windows XP machine (if still available?) the confusing point is that this issue exists across multiple machines, multiple routers, and multiple ISP's. The issue could be the side effect of an infection on the local network which is re-infecting new machines. An interference issue, a fault caused by anther device linked to the network that is "Flooding" your router. An incorrect entry on the routers isp configuration (cable/adsl). An intermittent fault with your line. Or conflicts caused by running multiple firewalls. So to try and narrow this down a bit further, I'm going to ask a few more questions:

Do you have any other devices (iThings etc) connected?

What firewalls are running (Windows Firewall and/or 3rd Party Firewall)?

Have you tried using goolge chrome?

The issue only exists intermittently while opening new tabs in IE9.

Have you tried using IE (without Add On's) option?

Yes, What Sub Styler suggesting is true. Try with other browsers like Chrome and Firefox.

I doubt that there may be a browser hijacker attack.
