IE9 won't start; doesn't appear in control panel/programs to uninstall

IE9 won't start; doesn't appear in control panel/programs to uninstall
    Running Win 7 Home 32bit
I believe the installation is corrupt. I tried reinstalling but the error was that I had a newer version installed .
Is there a way to thoroughly remove IE?
    Any tips appreciated

    Hello Kevin,

If you like, you could do a system restore using a restore point dated when IE9 was working properly to hopefully fix this.

    Hope this helps, :)

    You're most welcome. :)

It wouldn't hurt to also do a full scan of your system with Malwarebytes AntiMalware Free just to help make sure that your system is clean.

    Great tip
    I did and I'm OK
Just prior to IE9 not starting I had several lockups which required a power off reboot
I bet that scrambled some of the IE files
    thx
