IE 6 isn't supported anymore, IIRC. In fact, many non-MS companies are encouraging people to not use it.

    DL IE7 or 8.

Internet Explorer 6 is a security risk. If you need one site that has to use it, I suggest finding an alternative site.

IE6 is a security risk. IE7 is much more secure, and IE8 even more so. Any risk after that is due to user failure - always the weaker link. No one STOPPED getting infected simply by and only by switching to an alternative browser. You still need to keep Windows updated, a firewall running, current anti-malware software, and avoid risky practices (like illegal filesharing, illegal porn or gambling, opening attachments and downloads without scanning, etc. regardless the browser used.

    Have you tried compatibility mode?

IE6 is not secure but if you tell us more about the site we might be able to give you a workaround

My mistake, meant to say IE6. I know the others are more secure.

It still boils down to user discipline.
