want firefox browser; not internet explorer

I have been using Firefox for my browser for a long time but recently notice that Internet Explorer seems to be working instead. Can you help me with this problem, please? Nancy Brigan

First, we need to make Internet Explorer stop checking to see if it's the default browser. To do that, we need the Internet Options control panel. This can be opened in 3 different ways, but I think the easiest way is by doing this: open the Start Menu, type internet options, and press Enter.

In this little control panel, switch to the Programs tab. In there, look near the top of it and disable the setting called "Tell me if Internet Explorer is not the default browser". Then click OK.

Now open Firefox. In Firefox, open the Tools menu at the top and select "Options". In the Options control panel, switch to the Advanced tab (on the top-right). In the Advanced tab, enable the setting "Always check to see if Firefox is the default browser on startup". Click OK.

Now, restart Firefox. If it asks you if you want to make it the default browser, then click Yes. After that, you should be all set. :)

I want to thank the individual that gave me the latest info on how to assure that I am using Firefox. I Didn't get a name, but thank you very much. It appears to be working.
