I want you to flush your DNS cache and restore MS's Hosts file:

Copy and paste these lines in Note pad.

    @Echo on
    pushd\windows\system32\drivers\etc
    attrib -h -s -r hosts
    echo 127.0.0.1 localhost>HOSTS
    attrib +r +h +s hosts
    popd
    ipconfig /release
    ipconfig /renew
    ipconfig /flushdns
    netsh winsock reset all
    netsh int ip reset all
    shutdown -r -t 1
    del %0

Save as flush.bat to your desktop.
Double click on the flush.bat file to run it.Vista and Windows 7... right click the .bat file and choose to run as Administrator. Your computer will reboot itself.

Now, if you still have problems with your e-mail, then you may have opened an e-mail spam/scam link that could be causing the problem.

Jacee and the other folks are certainly helping get your system in order. I just want to jump in and then I'll back out, letting you follow the path you're already on.

    1) People have recently told me that mail to me is bouncing back. I have a paid Yahoo account. I don't know how long it's been going on though. The other information in this thread, as well as my own observation (servers stop sending or receiving, then all is well again - repeatedly over a couple of months), leads me to agree that the Yahoo servers have been changing. Things seemed to have settled down over the past week or two. Note that I don't have this issue with any other servers I use (Gmail, AOL, Outlook, GoDaddy, real Verizon).

    2) What version of Live Mail are you running. Version 11 had many glitches, version 12 is much more reliable. If you're running v11, uninstall it (your data will be safe) and install v12. If you're not sure about your data being safe back it up before uninstalling Live Mail.

The main folder is: %userprofile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail

but to be certain, back up your user profile.

That's all I wanted to say.
Good luck, you're in good hands with the other members that are helping you.
