How to get rid of ASK tool bar

    Hello All
I installed an app on my computer, and along with it installed the
"ASK" toolbar on google chrome. I used Revo Uninstaller to delete
the toolbar. I have uninstalled everything I could find about the
    "ASK" toolbar.
However I still have the "ASK" toolbar in Google Chrome and when
I try to remove it from the extensions menu it will not allow me.

    Help!

    Thanks

I'm not sure if this will work, but try uninstalling this app. If this works, then reboot. After rebooting, you would then open up the installer for the app. This time, don't install it right away. Instead, be extremely careful to look out for piggyback apps such as the Ask.com toolbar and remove the checkmark from the box and then continue on with the installation of this app.

If you need more help than this, then tell me what the App is and I will make screenshots (if the app is free to download and install).

The app was Platinum Hide IP. When all the problems started
I uninstalled the app along with the toolbar.
How ever I deleted the app too.

The only thing I can think of is to do this:

    1. Click the Chrome menu on the browser toolbar.
    2. Select Settings and find the "Search" section.
    3. Click Manage search engines.
    4. Select the Ask.com search engine and click the x that appears at the end of the row.

If this doesn't work, then we'll keep trying things until we get rid of it.

    Hi,

If all else fails, see if the ESET Rogue Application Remover will remove it for you:

ESET :: Download :: Utilities :: Detail :: Rogue Applications Remover

I'm not sure if it classifies ASK as rogueware or not, but it might do.

    Regards,

    Thank You for the replies.
"Two Cables" I had already deleted from the search engines.
"Golden" I ran Rogue Applications Remover and it did not pick up the ASK toolbar.
but thanks for the app, handy to have.
    Any more ideas guys?

Have a look at this AdwCleaner Download and see if it will help.
