Try disabling or uninstalling your antivirus program. That's what was blocking my downloads and after I changed an AV program, it was fixed

I don't think it is a good idea to disable your anti virus program. As win7 is a beta the security may not be as good as it could be! :)

Well, he should do it just to check if the download arrives. Afterwards, he either enables it back or changes it with another one if this was causing the problem...otherwise, he'll never know!

    limneos,

Yes I agree, but just to test, not for a full download! :)

If he's having the problem I was having, the download had to finish completely to see that it wasn't transfered at the end from temp files to the download location. It started downloading and at the end, the download disspapeared. From temp files too.

That was caused by my Avira antivirus, I then switched to Avast and all problems gone.

If you're saying that for security reasons, he can always download a verified, virus free download (yes , he can be sure that some are virus free) from e.g.. www.rarlabs.com

Yes I do understand, but the download is not the only thing that can attack PC's. The test was necessary, yes. There is also a list of working anti-virus programs on this forum to make it easier to choose. :)

Shooter, are the only problems with downloads you are having from games copy world? Or all/other downloads on your windows7 PC as well? I had the problem after upgrading to windows 7 with downloading files using via Firefox.

(If games copy world doesn't start the download the files from the browser window ignore this. :).)

This was because the upgrade to 7 had changed all the permissions on my directories (to read only + not full access) and I was now only able to save and edit files in my "my documents" and I didn't have the firefox save directory set to this folder. So worth a check of the permissions and read only status of any directories if the downloads are browser based and don't use torrents or clients.

Ok it is clearly a problem related only to gamecopyworld. disabling antivirus does not change it. the file starts and stops immediately downloading (0kb) from this site.

I've just had no problems downloading a program, ieSpell, told it to save and it downloaded to the download folder in Documents then all I had to do was right click on the download and tell it to run as administrator and it installed and is working.
