    Internet explorer 10 issue

    Hi guys

I made the decision to download IE10. To be honest I cannot make any distinguishable difference to IE9 in terms of speed. I don't like the fact that to switch to 64 bit browsing you need to change enabled protection something or other and reboot. Seems a pain.

Anyway the main backwards step/problem is accessing my Netgear WNDR3700 v2 router web GUI now. Whereas before it would be instant or at most a few seconds to show up. Now it often takes 10-20 secs to respond. It's intermittent as on occasion it is instant. I know the GUI was designed I think when IE8 ruled the roost but I find this odd. I tried all types of compatibility settings and changing the mode under developer tools. Plus clearing browser cache etc. No change. I am not a fan of having several browsers cluttering my laptop so I only have Mozilla as an alternate browser and there are no problems at all with this.

Any ideas on the router GUI issue, just plain not good with IE10? All other browsing with IE10 seems fine apart from this. I tried Netgear forums but no real help. I can update firmware to receive a newer GUI but the firmwares are buggy (well documented issues) and the one I have is most stable.

    Cheers
    Wayne

Actually the more I think about and use IE10 it seems to be far slower accessing internal devices. So for say my router 192.168.1.1 or say my book live NAS 192.168.1.8 or my draytek access point 192.168.1.3. The router is the worst offender but they all intermittently take over 10 seconds to respond in the IE10 browser but then sometimes they are instant. I don't recall this on IE9 and when using Mozilla I don't see same 'waiting for response' delay. Normal external sites seem pretty much fine all the time.

Very disappointed with ie10 so far. Once again seems like change for the sake of change. Maybe I should not of updated but no doubt windows update would of soon be pushing it in our faces. It just seems updates these days are bad wherever they come from. Microsofts new IE, the strange windows 8 obscenely lacking desktop start menu, even apple are at it with dreadful iTunes 11 and IOS6. It's all changing what was not broke and losing functionality. Trouble is you feel compelled to update either for security reasons or to be able to sync your new device as it will only work on latest update.

Sorry I sound like a moaner. Just very dissillusioned at the world of tech these days.
