Why? WEmail 2012 is far superior to WLM 2011. And... and it shows the body of messages

Ok thanks ! It's too bad I would of liked to keep the 2011 version
As a precaution: Back up your WLM information in %userprofile%\AppData\Local\

    • --> copy "Windows Live Mail" "Windows Live Mail_2011"
    • Uninstall WLM 2011 using Control Panel "Programs and Features"
    • Wipe leftover bits of WLM 2011 using Revo Revo Uninstaller (freeware version)
    • Reboot your system and
    • Install WEmail using the Windows Essentials (WE) standalone installer (not the web shim installer)
--> WE standlone install page: How do I install Windows Essentials while offline?
--> WE English direct download (run, save, cancel)

@Robin: Other than the send to category, could you be a little more specific?

A quick Google search Windows Live Mail 2011 problems or a SF search for Windows Live Mail 2011 returns many issues with WLM 2011. I assisted on many of those issues here on SF. When WEmail 2012 was availalbe (and running well on my machine) I recommended moving to the latest release. I don't recall an issue that was not resolved.

@Lasar1971: If you are happy with WLM 2011, then sure stay on it. If it ain't broke.... don't fix it. however, if WLM 2011 is broken or acting odd, there are remedies.

Since I don't have much information on the problem, I'll start by asking you to check your system for malware

    On Demand scans
Real time protection (If you have AV software running on your system, please identify it and run a full system scan - otherwise choose one of the following to install and protect your system.)

Ony ONE real-time malware application should exist on your system

    Bootable Offline scanners:

We are not talking about one machine, we are talking about 7. And 3 client machines who installed 2012 over 2011. None of my machines are infected, I have more Antispyware and a antivirus program on these machines then needed, I do not go to bad sites, heck I teach others where to go or not . Only one test machine goes all over but that is to test for Trojans or spyware and is re imaged if I find it gets infected
And worse at microsoft s site so many have the same problem so one can not blame this on an infection
I have no problem using 2011 but I would like to upgrade to keep up to date and to test and this is an issue that Microsoft needs to fix

@Robin: I did ask you a question which went unanswered. Then I contested your statement regarding no problems on WLM 2011. We simply have different experiences with it.

I'm trying to help Lasar1971 fix this issue, not yours. I've taken your precaution into consideration - thank you.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I've edited post 14 to clarifiy this.

@Lasar1971: The scan was a recommendation for you. Please scan your system as posted in the second part of post# 14. If there are any threats found, post the information.

    Thanks, Bill

Ok good, now continue with the other scans in post# 14. Malwarebytes is only one tool.
