Windows 7: Outlook Profile removed; Account lost

Outlook Profile removed; Account lost

HELP please. This is a really serious problem for me.

It started when my Outlook would not open any of the word attachments regardless of how I tried to open them. They would not open when I clicked on them and so I tried closing Word first and then tried to open the attachement withWord closed, hoping that this would start Word up in a version that would suit the attachement. This didn't work either.

So I followed the strong recommendation of a member of the Seven Forum (Capt.Jack Sparrow) who said it could be solved by deleting the Outlook Profile within the Regedit feature. To do this I went into Start > Regedit then deleted the Profiles key under the WindowsMessaging Subsystemkey (in the chain HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\WindowsMessaging Subsystem).

But now my whole Outlook account has disappeared and I can't get into my account at all. So I can't find any of my old messages or drafts etc.

Can soneone please help me to restore my Outlook account or allow me to access all my old messages.

C:\Documents and Settings\*Username*\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

Outlook 2010

They will appear as .pst files i think, backup this folder/s as a precaution if all else fails you should be able to remove/reinstall outlook then replace these files to that folder after recreating account and they will re-appear

i have not done this and i cannot guarantee it will work, this may be a last resort, wait to see if others have a simpler solution
