    Just a thought...

MSI is an install file container, that error about it has indicated trouble during the install, I wonder if this is just a matter of Windows Installer (service) being disabled.

Do services.msc in the START | run box.... and look for Windows Installer, make sure it's MANUAL or AUTOMATIC, I use manual which let's windows use it as needed, can't hurt to reboot after this change and try again.

Plus you can look for msiexec.exe in your running processes list in task manager, that is the Windows Installer tool.

@A guy The JRE file wont install for x86, but I tried it with the JDK and it DID install. The browserlauncherror: 3 error still remained, so does this mean only jdk files will install now?

A couple of suggestions. D/L and run JavaRa, to remove older versions, also run the Additional tasks

    JavaRa | SingularLabs

Run this fix it from MS, it replaced the Windows Installer Cleanup utility

See if Java is listed in the results.

Ahhh, good, so the ownership of the temp folders was the issue. Well done, glad you got it sorted
