IE10 can not connect to the internet while Firefox does!

    Hello all,

Few days ago I have had problem with Firefox which has been repaired by resetting it to the "Factory settings". Now Firefox is working good but Internet Explorer (10) does not connect to the internet. When I start IE10 get the following message: "Waiting to the website ..." but further nothing happen. I stopped the firewall and the antivirus (Zonealarm) but it didn't help. I reset IE to the "Factory settings" but without success. Scanned the computer using Zonealarm AV and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware but nothing is found.

Anyone has an idea about this problem? Any advice will be highly appreciated.

    Best regards,

    Anne

As a test, please uninstall all parts of ZoneAlarm and install MSE instead.

I don't think this will help, but you can check your proxy settings.
Internet options > connections tab > LAN settings - if automatically detect setting is check try removing it. Then make sure proxy isn't checked.

    You can try this tool:
SF IE Restorator - Troubleshooting General Issues with IE
    Use buttons 2, 3 and 5

    Hello UsernameIssues,

Downloaded and install SF IE Restorator and run it as administrator using buttons 2, 3 and 5 but nothing is changed. IE is still not working!

    Thanks for your effort.

Maybe this scan will show something:
SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker
Please run it a few times. If it finds/fixes something, reboot and run it again.

See if something is getting in IE's way:
Troubleshoot Application Conflicts by Performing a Clean Startup

Briefly turn the Windows firewall off and test. Be sure to turn it back on.

    Problem solved!

It was "(KB2817183) Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 10 for Windows 7 Service Pack 1 for x64-based Systems" the reason for all this trouble . I did a System Restore to remove this update and the IE10 connect perfectly to the internet .

Many thanks to all of you for your effort and advices.

    Best regards,
