    Can't open Hyperlinks

My mates computer (Windows 7) is refusing to open any links and he gets the following message.

This file does not have a program associated with it for this action. Create an association in the set associations control panel.

Can somebody please tell me in Kidergarten language how to make adjustments and rectify the problem. We are in our 70s and 80s so if you could spell it out, you will not offend us.

    Hello John,

You could have him set Internet Explorer as the default program with all of it's associations set to it to fix this.

Default Programs - Set a Program's Default Associations

    Hope this helps, :)

Thanks Brink, every thing is fixed and back to normal. That was a problem that just suddenly happened, and maybe he clicked or switched something without knowing.
Anyway If anybody has a similar problem, the following is the way I told my mate to fix it.

    XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

    To do this,
    Click Start
    Click Control panel
    Click Programs
Now under Default Programs, click set your default programs
Click Internet Explorer (2nd one down)
Click Set this program as default
    Click OK

Now close all of that stuff and go back to one of my e-mails and DBL click a link and let me know how it went.
