"Failed-Virus scan failed" error when making downloads on chrome

I have actually been getting this error for the past month, at least since March 29th. I've made several attempts to work around it but to no avail. It appears that there is an error with the other browsers as well. I have searched for solutions for this for several weeks, none of which fit my problem. I uninstalled my clamwin antivirus in favor of Windows Security Essentials, though, most people have fixed this problem by messing with AVG? I don't think I have AVG on my computer?

Anyway, if someone knows how to solve this problem please let me know, I'm willing to try anything.

    Let's see what Anti-virus is installed ....

    Download CKScanner from here http://downloads.malwareremoval.com/CKScanner.exe
Save it to your desktop. <=== IMPORTANT
Doubleclick CKScanner.exe and click Search For Files.
After a very short time, when the cursor hourglass disappears, click "Save List To File".
A message box will verify that the file is saved.
Double-click the CKFiles.txt icon on your desktop and copy/paste the contents in your next reply.

As the title suggests, I can't download anything. So I cannot download CKScanner without getting the same "Failed - Virus scan failed" message.

    Un-install Chrome
    Reset IE9:
go to Internet Explorer, Internet Options, Advanced and Reset, then Reset to confirm resetting Internet Explorer

Now tell me if you can install CKScanner

I got another error saying that "CKScanner contained a virus and was deleted."

    Hmmm, it's quite clean!!

Download Security Check by screen317 from here http://screen317.spywareinfoforum.org/SecurityCheck.exe or here http://screen317.spywareinfoforum.org/
    Save it to your Desktop.
Double click SecurityCheck.exe and follow the onscreen instructions inside of the black box.
A Notepad document should open automatically called checkup.txt.
Please post the contents of that document.

You don't seem to be listening. I cannot download anything, I know the files don't have viruses but it keeps saying it does.

The only security that I have is Microsoft Security Essentials, if it helps.

Well, you didn't mention in your title or first post that you couldn't download anything!

Did you follow my instructions in post #6?

It says it in the title?

Also, I couldn't download it, again because it says it contains a virus...
