    Mail corruption moving from Vista

I just upgraded my Vista system to W7, then tried to import mail from Vista Mail into Outlook 2007. Most messages and folders imported just fine, but the last year's worth of messages in the inbox didn't make the journey. I also tried WLM, just in case, with the same results.

Any ideas on the easiest way to get those messages imported? I wasn't experiencing any problems with Vista Mail, so I assume it's not severe corruption.

    Hi there

do you still have an XP system anywhere - even as a vm.

If you do try and get these messages into OUTLOOK EXPRESS.

now see if you can import these into Outlook.

Another way - but means a lot of manual effort tidying up afterwards is to forward all these emails to YOURSELF on the old system. Don't RECEIVE yet.

    On the new system RECEIVE.

Do this for inbox / sent mail and any other folder individually.

You'll have to "unscramble" all the individual mails however but it can be done.

    Cheers

Thanks, Jimbo. I have XP on one of my notebooks. I'll try getting them into OE and see how it goes.

the other option is to get the emails into the csv file format and import them into Outlook. I've had to do this on my mother's laptop, went from vista mail to windows 7 and Outlook 2007.
