Windows Live Mail Inbox messages don't load automatically

    I'm using Windows7 & Windows Live Mail version 2009 (Build 14.0.8089.0726).

I hear the chime that new mail has arrived & see the number of unread messages increase, but the messages themselves are not shown. I have to click on another box (junk, drafts, sent, etc) and then click back on Inbox to see the messages. This happens when I 1st open Windows Live Mail (inbox) & also if I've left it open while I do something else (internet, word, excel, etc). Previously, new messages appeared immediately, when they were received.

Actually, this might also happen with junk (spam), but I almost always leave Live Mail "sitting" in the inbox.

How do I get new messages to appear immediately, when they were received?

Maybe you should upgrade the program to 2012. There are probably more functions then in 2009

I would try a repair, to do so, control panel>programs and features>select Widows Live Essentials and choose the repair option.
