Youtube videos won't play with IE10?

In order to play a Youtube video in IE10 I have to right click the video and click "open link" to get it to play about 75% of the time otherwise they will work by clicking them as usual...is there a fix for this or is this not normal?

What happens when they do not work? Do the videos and their controls display fine on the youtube page? Does nothing happen when clicking the play button? Does the play button work, but the video is black? Etc. Tell us what happens exactly when they don't work. A Guy

I hope the flash and shockwave player is updated to the latest version.
In case you haven't already, please update it from here.

If that doesn't work, try resetting internet options to the default settings.

When you click the small preview "icon" for a video it normally then opens the page for that video and plays...when I click the small preview "icon" nothing happens so I have to right click and select "open link" for it to function normally and this is only since updating to IE10...all other browsers are fine. My Flash is latest version but will check Shockwave and reset IE (think I already did a reset but will do again).

I don't believe this is a Flash issue at all, it is more a link issue, since the previews are just links to the actual page. Which work fine once opened. Let's make sure IE is set as default for file types (assuming E is your default browser. If not, skip to re-registering dlls).

Start> In search box type Default Programs> Click on Set Your Default Programs in results above> Click on Internet Explorer> Choose Defaults For This Program> Click on Select all> Click on Save> OK your way out

Restart IE and see if this has helped.

If that does not help, let's re-register some dll's

Start> In search box type cmd> Right click cmd.exe in results above and choose Run as administrator> When the advance command prompt opens type the following followed by enter each time. You should receive a confirmation after each.

    regsvr32 urlmon.dll

    Enter

    regsvr32 mshtml.dll

    Enter

    regsvr32 shdocvw.dll

    Enter

    regsvr32 browseui.dll

    Enter

    regsvr32 msjava.dll

    Enter

Restart IE and try again. A Guy

I did a reset yesterday and all has been opening fine so that solved it so far it would seem. Now another note was the preview images for all videos when I hovered my mouse over them had a play arrow on them but still had to right click and select open link to play. There are no arrows now so think issue might be solved. Thanks, will update if issue creeps back up.

Ok it worked ok for since my last post and then just a minute ago it was doing it again. I decided to uninstall Flash and re-install and when I selected it for removal it said IE needed to be closed first...I did not have any IE windows open. I then brought up the task manager and there were 10 instances of IE10 running but yet no IE windows open. Guessing this is more of an IE issue now. Any ideas?
