Internet Explorer 10 - Settings and history

    Dear Forum,

I am having trouble with internet explorer. I have downloaded from the email that I received to a folder that looked like it was created with capital letters - I have done a bit of research and I gather that it went to a IE5 folder. When I went looking for it - I could not find it.

I have tried everything to try and find it.

In future I know to save to a library or desktop - before I have to call Microsoft - I think that the technical advisor at the Microsoft website was that technically blessed. He only could give general advice - we all know that I guess you really have to see items - just words - well you miss the details.

I just want to know if I have the correct set up like everyone else.

    Thank you

    Hi melissa
Your post doesn't make much sense! Exactly what problem are you having with Internet explorer and what email are you talking about?

    Here I go again.

    1. I am uploading documents from the internet and I am not able to find them on my system. (Downloading from Outlook)
    2. I am having issues as to where to find temporary internet settings - whether or not they are correct.
    3. I am wishing to have the settings set to have as many days/weeks of history that I can
    4. I am also wanting to know where to find where the temporary internet folder on in Windows 7.
    5. It looks like my IE5 folder is not correct. I think I may have it set up incorrectly.

    6. I will google if no one can assist - I have been trying to no avail and some occasions I have not got access to the folders that they recommend I go to.

Thanks and big sorry - I stuffed up again. Have not posted for this reason

    logoff/logon (so fresh logon):
    1. Goto folder %temp%
    2. Delete all stuff there

    Thanks for the messages back.

I was mostly concerned and perhaps stressing too much on the IE5 folder that I think some of my temp files that I have downloaded went too.

I understand the concept of deleting the items in %temp% - but I am not too sure of where the source of some of them are and if they may be required.

I would like to keep my temporary history in internet explorer 10 as I tend to forget what webpage I was on that may be handy down the track that I have not added to favourites. I guess that may just keep up space.

I guess logging off and then logging on may be a good option.

When you do not know what you are doing - it is quite daunting.

But Melissa in one of your many threads on this topic Gregrocker gave you very explicit advice on running CCleaner. Have you done that?
