Google Chrome is still remembering history, although set to not do.

    Hi,

I've set to clear all history when quitting the Google Ghrome browser, but it is still recognized them so far.

I really did this with MS IE and FireFox, so all history is removed after quitting the browsers.

So how can I do this with Google Chrome?

It would be quite greatly appreciated if you could help me with this.:)

When you say History, what exactly are you seeing even after changing this setting? Try to be as specific as possible because what you're seeing could be controlled by a different setting.

Thank you so much indeed for your reply.

I really want to let history be empty while clicking on it. As you may know that Google Chrome has a history option in the its settings. So I didn't want websites to be shown in this history.(Screenshot below)

Besides, I saw this page opening for me while clicking Chrome. (screenshot below) I didn't want it, I want Home page to be as the page showing me when I first install googl Chrome which is only a page asking me to sign in google account.

So I didn't want to see all this websites in my next opening Google Chrome.

This is my google Chrom after installing it recently and in its first use:

The 'Sign in' tap was the first page showing me, but now it was replaced by the above one which has many sites I visited before.
    The 'history' tap was empty

So I want my Chrome to not remeber history and let the visting websites.

It sounds to me like the solution is to always be in Incognito Mode. Here's one article explaining how to make Incognito Mode become permanent (until you change it back):

How to Start Google Chrome in Incognito Mode by Default

Tip: they recommend creating a shortcut. If you have Chrome pinned to the Taskbar, then just Shift+Right-click it. Or, right-click the shortcut that you're already using if you're using one that's not pinned to your Taskbar.

Yes, I want it to look like incognito mode, but I really run google chrome in normal mode. So there are some visiting pages are still appearing in my borwsers I couldn't remove them. Even when I clear history, they are still not removed.

Also, I run CCleaner, but they are also still shown.

Should I reinstall Google chrome again? Then I should keep using Incognito Mode?

NB: there is no other way to let google chrome in normal mode remove visiting websites and cookies in quitting as it is in firefox and internet explorer:)

I don't know, but I know one thing: it's not using Firefox or Internet Explorer for that.

I really know that all browsers have Incognito Mode, in which normally all working will not be tracked. However,I really wanted to ask about Firefox, Internet Explorer in normal mode can be set up to delete cookies and history in closing browsers. So it this feature availabe in Google Chrome?

    Hoping you understand me.

After looking through all of Google Chrome's options and after searching the Internet, it looks to me like it lacks this ability entirely (yes, I am disappointed in Google Chrome). So I still recommend setting it up so that it always opens in "Incognito Mode" by default. I mean, you won't have to switch to Incognito Mode with it set up this way, it'll just be in that mode every time you open Chrome (that is, if you follow the instructions that I posted earlier).

Another option is to just stop using Google Chrome entirely. I mean seriously, I've never liked Chrome before, and now the more and more I help you with it here in this thread, the less and less I understand why anyone likes it. I mean, to me, it seems that Google Chrome only has one thing going for it: speed (Oooooo... I'm not impressed). Firefox 21 has speed too, but it also has all the features and customizations that anyone could ever hope for! Even Internet Explorer seems better than Google Chrome to me after helping you this far! Yeah, that's blasphemy, but if I had to choose between IE and Chrome, then I would choose IE without any hesitation knowing what I know now.

I just don't get it: Google should know what features to have in their browser based on what features are in the other popular browsers! The feature that we're talking about here is probably one of the more important features, so why they don't have it is a complete mystery to me. So, now I can safely say that I don't understand why anyone likes Google Chrome at all. Maybe it's ok if all you're looking for is a fast browser that has a really fun and pretty User Interface, but still: Firefox still destroys all other browsers for me, and I feel more strongly about this now thanks to this thread than I have ever felt before.
