Okay I'm lost. I didn't know anybody had to log into I.E.
Are you the only user of this computer?
Are you using a Administrator or a User account.

sorry I used the wrong terminology. when I click on internet explorer 10, my homepage comes up. but when I try to go to a different site, I get logged off my computer and the computer reboots. this happens to both my administer account and a user account I created to see if my administer account was corrupted.

How did you get to this Forum?
Who owns the computer you are having problems with.
I'm trying to get 2+2=4 in my head. Something is not adding up.

    1. I.E. doesn't shut down computers.
    2. How are you posting on this site if using I.E. shuts down the computer.
    3. I.E. or any other program when not working properly can freeze a computer or BSOD a computer but is does not shut a computer down.
    -------------------------
Maybe it's just the wording or terms we are using.
Which is what I'm trying to work through. That is why I'm asking silly little questions. To make sure we are on the same page.
I'm thinking a infection could cause such a goofy problem.
If we get down to thinking it is probably a infection we have people on this Forum that love to beat up on infections and will gladly help. If you have more that one computer you can use that might also help.

If by chance you are getting the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) we have people that will help you through that kind of problem.

    1. I.E. is not shutting down the computer, per say, its logging me off when I try to leave my homepage.
    2. I have three computers, 2 laptops and a desktop
    3. my computer is not freezing or getting BSOD's
I don't mind any questions you may have that could possibly lead to a solution, I have never seen something like this. you may be right about this being an infection, but I'm not familiar with correcting such a problem. thanks for your help.

Okay I think I got it.
Leaving your home page which is what? You get logged off as a user but you computer doesn't shut down or reboot.
That smell like a infection to me and I would suggest using this part of our Forum for infection.

System Security - Windows 7 Help Forums

The reason I keep asking what your home page is because some infection will show a false home page that is infected and causes goofy things to happen.
You can inform them of this thread and it might give them a heads up on your problem.
