Yes you are right, but it's too high in my opinion, that's why I chose FeedDeamon.

Guess I'll use Thunderbird, otherwise I would have to convert all the mail filters to another program, a very time consuming operation.

With Thunderbird, I could use the same mail program for Win 2000, Win XP, Vista, and Win 7, not to mention Ubuntu.

Windows Mail and Windows Live Mail are actually two different products. Windows Mail was ithe successor to Outlook Express and was ncluded natively with Windows Vista. Windows Live Mail is the new successor to both, and is part of the Windows Live suite of products that is not installed by default in any version of Windows. Windows Live products must be downloaded and installed.

WTF What possessed them not to include Windows Mail? Is there some logic to it?

It is easier to update and maintain a separated package (Windows Live Mail) then an integrated package. Plus not ever one requires an email client, like me.

I Added the take ownership to the context menu. right clicked on both windows mail folders in x64 /PROGRAM FILES and PROGRAM FILES X86 took ownership of both. deleted everything in both folders, managed to download the winmail for x64 vista copied the contents into both folders, I clicked on the program files without the x86, and opened winmail and it worked. no hazzle

I expect that MSFT really wants folkes to use Outlook.

I think that the cost of converting filters from Thunderbird to another progra mjust is not worth the cost.

In addition, I do not want to be at the mercy of MSFT's whims when they change email clients this way.

I use Live Mail, but only because it is the easiest to use with my hotmail account. I think if I had any other email provider I would use thunderbird, but WLM is easy to use.
