    I'm sorry but are you referring to the internet subscription you receive from your Internet Service Provider? My neighbor has a 25mb download package but I get 1.5mb download speed (he lets me use his WIFI).

    You'll never get whats advertised. Ever.

    You do get the speed the it states in the contract assuming you have ADSL it depends how far you are away from the exchange will determine your internet speed, btw 512kbps is equaled to about 50-60kbs.

    It also depends on the source of the download. Some have limitations to save bandwidth.

    Website A may have a DL cap of 300kbps
    Website B may cap thier DLs at 60Kbps

    No matter what speed your connection is capable of, if the source is capping thier DL speeds, thats as fast as it will go no matter what you do.

    Very few speedtest sites are accurate either, if you are measuring your speed in that fashion you could be being fooled...

    Prove it with some evidence? How do you know this?

    @ ritesh, don't get confused between KB/s and Kb/s.

    KB=kilobytes
    Kb=Kilobits

    KB is how download speeds are measured
    Kb is how connection speeds are measured

    1 byte=8 bits

    So a 512Kb connection can download at a maximum speed of approx 60-64 KB/sec

    Oh yes that is quite true since my cousins have that Internet connection speed also.
