The file is on the dropbox server. You send a link to the file in an email, like you'd send a link to a YouTube video etc. The way I do it is to go to the website (from icon in taskbar) copy the download link from website and paste it in email for friend to download (r click save as etc)

send links to yourself as a test.

I would like someone to simply explain what is happening when i click on share from dropbox and i get the spinning thing that does nothing?

What is it trying to do?

Why does installing dropbox software change nothing with this box??

My expectation is if i have a file loaded into dropbox, with the green check mark, then when i am composing an email in yahoo and select share from drop box it will load the file/video onto my email as an attachment that will allow the file/video to be sent with the email to the recipient of my choosing.

Well, that did seem to work. I was able to email myself a link to the video.

Very time consuming and irritating that Yahoo has drop box, but yet you cannot use it.
    It seems non-functionable.

Plus, the drop box instructions are vauge and the process to attach stuff to emails from the dropbox folders also is not working for me

I have to manually load videos into the dropbox software, then use a link, which for me was a non-working link, meaning i had to copy and paste into another page to get to see the video, i could not just click the link, but that may be an issue with settings on my pc, or how i put the link into my email that i sent myself.

I apologize for being thick headed and/or upset, this was way more work than necessary for me.
I guess thats why i am on this forum, to figure out PC stuff i cannot on my own.

The easy way to get to the link of any files you have put in your Dropbox folder is to click on the tiny icon in the taskbar at bottom right of your screen like so:

Then just click on the file you want and the link to it will be copied to your clipboard. Just paste into an email message.
