Hello Herm,
By default, the 32-bit IE is already the default program unless you changed it. :)
I have noticed on ie8 and 9's install did install 64 bit shortcuts on the desktop,
But the install would also list 64 bit under that shortcut and also on the All programs list/ did for me anyway,
I just simply deleted the desktop one and open the other and pinned it to Taskbar.
if Brinks response is correct why did he write a tutorial, why doesn’t an application that I found out needs a 32 bit IE work and why is there a separate 32 bit version if IE 10?
I'm not sure what tutorial you're referring to but most tutorials are to walk people through and explain certain processes/ changes with images as guidance,
I just hope Brink's golf game does not suffer because of all of the time he make to make all of these very helpful tutorials
32-bit and 64-bit Windows: frequently asked questions
32 bit vs 64 bit Comparison
Rule #1: Brink is always correct.
Rule #2: If you think Brink is not correct, see Rule #1. :)
In 32-bit Windows 7, Internet Explorer 10 (IE10) is still only a 32-bit browser.
In 64-bit Windows 7, Internet Explorer 10 (IE10) has 32-bit and 64-bit together in one browser now.
The IE10 browser frame process runs 64-bit, but for compatibility with plug-ins, IE10 runs 32-bit tabs by default. If the user turns on “Enhanced Protected Mode”, they will have 64-bit tabs by default for IE10.
Internet Explorer 10 - Enable 32-bit or 64-bit IE10 in Windows 7
Hope this helps to understand it better. :)
Brink - I apologize if I sounded snarky but I’m frustrated and am getting conflicting information. My computer shows me running 64 bit!!
No worries Herm. :)
Just to help clarify what you are seeing, could you post a screenshot showing where it says that you are running 64-bit.
I finally contacted the vendor and the advised me to reinstall Adobe active x and it works again in 64 bit mode. Herm
