MS Outlook - sender address selection

I have three email addresses I use regularly. In the past I was able to select which to use for the From filed by clicking on a little drop down menu by the "From" field. I think that was where it was - took it for granted it was there so didn't pay much attention! The point is that I was bale to select address a or address b quickly and easily.

For some reason this option has disappeared and I can't see anywhere obvious from where I can make this selection. Seems to have happened since the last MS update messed up my Kaspersky AV software and I had to wind back to IE9.

I have Outlook 2003, and "Accounts" is where I can select the "from" e-mail address.

I'm tempted to quietly sneak off and hide in shame! However I blame the last MS update as it created a host of problems with various software. I certainly can't think of what I could have done.

Why embarrassed? Because the reason the facility to select which address to use for the outgoing email was because all my addresses bar one had been zapped! So there was nothing to produce the drop down list with.

    How stupid!

I can't think of what update would have done that, as I have all the updates and mine has not been affected.

But, the final result is the problem was resolved.

I agree it seems odd but amongst the problems I had, it included an AV one. This is what I got from Kasperky after my activation and licensing data disappeared -

"The issue you are getting is likely due to an update Microsoft have pushed through to Windows 7 computers upgrading Internet Explorer from version 9 to version 10. Internet Explorer 10 for Windows 7 has been causing various issues with a number of our products since its release on Windows 7 (Windows 8 is fine) and it appears quite a number of other software vendors are experiencing similar issues."

Hence my blaming, rightly or wrongly, the update for this issue. But as you said, problem solved. Another of life's great mysteries!
