Outlook search omitting 2 weeks of records and indexing won't stop

I'm new forum participant; this is my 1st post. I turned off my PC 2 weeks ago before leaving on vacation. Upon my return, Outlook (for searches only) now always omits the 2 weeks of records during the time my PC was off. The records are in Outlook and visible; just not displayed on searches. When I check indexing status, indexing has been running since I returned 3 days ago, but the number of indexed records remains constant at 488,455. So it seems indexing is running but not really completing its indexing sequence.

The problem is applicable to my exchange account as well as my Verizon pop account. Searching large folders in my email is critical to my job. Suggestions?

If you've been away for a couple of weeks did you do the basics/ Check for windows updates/ Update your security suite,
Also what year version of Office and outlook are you running ?
    Just like to add this,
    Clean boot,

Thank you. I did need to update M/S updates and my McAfee as well. I updated both, rebooted and am still experiencing the same issue.

Have you used either office diagnostics or Office also has a fix program option in Uninstall a program,
What version of office your running,
You should shut down not just boot.

Use Alt+HN in outlook or Help menu, I'm using 2007 so the menus might be different ?
    The other is a given.

I have tried clean boot; problem still persists. Outlook searches don't bring back any records after 2 weeks ago, and indexing continues to run.
