Ok, done. I had to re-log into my most frequently haunted websites (what a pain) but it seems to be working ok so far.

Before that and after my last post, I tried uninstalling MBAM Pro and Spybot. I had read some where MBAM Pro didn't always play well with other programs. The newest version of Spybot I had installed was duplicating the function of my firewall (ZoneAlarm free), only it couldn't be trained like ZoneAlarm, and was getting to be annoying. I had read on another forum that the older version of Spybot was sill available on its website so, since I liked the older version better, I decided to install it instead. I didn't bother with SAS since it only runs during a scan.

Removing MBAM Pro and the newer version of Spybot didn't help since I was able to force a crash although I did have an obscene number of tabs open (around fifteen) so I reinstalled MBAM Pro and installed the older version of Spybot.

John's suggestion for a different download of IE10 did seem to help; at least the crashes were farther apart (before, they were happening frequently). It's too soon to see if your latest suggestion will work and I have to get up early tomorrow morning so it may be awhile before I know if it worked or not. At least, I haven't had any crashes so far.

Well, heck! I just got another ^%$#@! crash.

You did something very dangerous, Mike; you got me thinking (believe me, that is scary). After that last crash, on a hunch based on your last set of instructions, I went into Tools, Internet options, and, under Browsing history, I went into Settings. There, under the Temporary Internet Files tab, I upped the Disk space to use setting from 250MB to 1024MB. Under the History tab, I cut the Days to keep pages in history from 20 down to 10. If the crashes are caused by me overloading the buffers (the recent crashes have been occurring after I had been running ridiculous numbers of tabs; something normally do only occasionally), that should cut down on the load and give more room for everything. So far, I haven't had any crashes but it's still too soon to tell. Time will tell.

Dang! Got another crash.

And just now (less than a minute later) another one. I'm getting really torqued.

After that review post #7 Alt+TB Uncheck Download comp-view lists from Microsoft.
I Delete browser history on exit using these settings/ You can uncheck Form fills if you use that feature,

I also have history setting on retain for 0 days but the space is at it's recommended size of 250mg,
I would also go as far as replacing Avast with MSE.

Ok, I looked at that link and got dizzy. Seriously. Probably because it's late and I'm thoroughly P.O. (at IE, not you). I don't want my cookies automatically deleted. I have them set to notify me the first time a website tries to put one on my computer so I can choose which cookies get put on my computer and which ones get blocked. I only keep the ones I actually need. I don't want to have to input passwords, etc. every time I go to a site plus some sites, such as vendors, need their cookies.

I'm not replacing AVAST, especially with MSE. I've tried MSE and found it to be a POS. It let some infections through and had to be constantly manually updated. It has been near the bottom of AV reviews for some time now.
