    lost search box function

I have a problem I am on windows 7. and am using google .you know when you have been searching on the site for a while, and you want to go back to something. you go to the search bar at the top left, and on the right side of that there is a little arrow (a dropdown box) click it and all you have typed comes up, so you can click on what you previously typed .and bring it back up.so you don't have to type it in again.it also allows you to delete it all . Well mine as gone .I click the arrow and nothing happens. Very annoying.
    any body got any answers.

Could you please upload a screenshot of how your Google search box looks?
This is mine, an as you can see, there is no arrow or context menu to be found.

Oh, and which browser are you using? If you are using multiple browsers, does this issue happen with all or them or just with one?

Aaah, that is a toolbar, not the search box of Google itself.

You might want to reinstall the toolbar using this link to see if the problem persists after reinstallation.

Good luck and keep us posted,

You can also try this before re-installing the Google toolbar,
Use Alt+TA or Gear symbol on the top right and Manage add-ons,
See if Google Toolbar helper is Enabled,
    Attachment 280428
I usually run with the Helper Disabled so that why my first pick didn't show the other down arrow on the left of the search button,
As soon as I Enabled Helper the search results appeared,
    Attachment 280426
You can also see if Restoring defaults helps or verify that these boxes are checked.

Nommy the first /thrashzone Thanks for trying to help me.but I am getting nowhere, first off I went to the link you gave me Nommy it was in German. so I left that I tried toolbar helper it is enabled then reinstalled Google toolbar.
I was told you have successfully installed toolbar. so I rebooted (as per instructions) and its' just the same. The problem with Google seems to be every thing comes up chrome, I HATE Chrome it also advised me to go back to default settings, but I am a bit nevous on that one. anything else. PLEASE.

Oops, my bad, this link should work in English.

So as I understand it, you reinstalled the toolbar, and it didn't work? And have you rebooted your browser or your machine? If only your browser, please reboot your machine as well.

Good luck and keep us posted,
