I have not tried the above(Clean Boot) but since I change in advanced options, use software rather than hardware,
I did not get back a type of problem happened to me sometimes -> "video driver stopped responding and recovered..."

There a way to reinstall internet explorer 8 ?

It would be better to check with the computer manufactures website Help-support sections for video card driver updates first,
If you choose to Uninstall ie9 or 10 see this,

    I check the link ...
    • if I uninstall internet explorer 9, I will have the version 8 automatically again ?
    • Patches appear to download again(for explorer 8) or already installed ?
    • My favorites list will disappear ?

Uninstalling ie9 does roll back to ie8,
There will be updates for ie8 once you roll back,
Your favorites should be unaffected but you can export them to html file just to be safe,
