Internet Explorer 10 crashes on Windows 7

It's actually not my pc, it is my friends. He uses Internet Explorer 10 on his windows 7 ultimate 64bit SP1. Everytime he clicks on hyperlinks in webpages, his IE10 crashes and says "Internet Explorer has stopped working" and then it will reload the webbrowser and the last page, but it will freeze up on him and the only way he can close it is if he terminated via the task manager. How can he fix this? He also uses Norton 360 latest version but I can tell you already that isn't the issue.

    Try No Add-ons mode,
Click the start button and type,
    internet explorer
Click on the No Add-ons suggestion near the top/ Test.
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/manage-add-ons#ie=ie-10-win-7
    If still no joy,
    Click Start and All programs,
Right click the ie10 listing and click on Run as administrator/ Test.

Link didn't work and it seems like a odd little blog so I'm not going to post a live link to it,
The first, was to use No add-ons mode/ already offered.
Second, was to Run as administrator/ Already offered.
Third, was to switch to Software rendering,
    https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/149063-internet-explorer-gpu-hardware-acceleration-turn-off.html
Forth, was to check with the computer manufacture website Help-Support sections for video card driver updates.
