What IE10 do I have?
If I go to Help/About in my IE10, it does not say it's a 64-bit version.
But its exe file is in Program Files (not x86) and if I run it directly from that exe file, Help says the same thing. So what do I have? 64-bit or 32-bit? (Running in 64-bit W7 Pro) John |

They are both on your system, you have to enable 64bit if you want it.

There is always one instance of 64 bit running, iexplore.exe
All windows/ open tabs will actually be running iexplore.exe*32 though. Right click your Taskbar and click on Start Task manager, Processes section. But Yes to truly use 64 bit you must enable Enhanced protection mode as the link will show you, The issue you will soon find allot of toolbars...... will not function, This is why 64 bit has not been activated in ie10 by default. Enhanced protection mode should be used as a troubleshooting step to rule out third party corruption when Internet explorer crashes...., Cheers. |

Thank you both for your most helpful replies. I have UAC disabled on this computer so I'm happy enough to stick with 32-bit. I use Firefox almost always anyway.

How to tell if IE10 is 32 bit or 64 bit. I note from another thread, on subject of same question for IE9, that one only has to look at the Help>About where all is revealed. However, this is not the case with IE10. The same advice is true, that one selects the 32 or 64 by using the appropriate value in the shortcut, that is to say the... |
