I have Windows 8 home and IE 10. My version of Windows won't allow me to use gpedit.msc so I can't go that route.
How do I disable selective browser history deletion? As in, preventing users from opening history and right-click-deleting only a select few items from the browser history.
I have already disabled the delete browser history button but it does not prevent selective deletion.
Any help is appreciated! Thanks.
Welcome to Seven Forums cicimi. You might want to join Eight Forums and inquire there as well. I don't believe it can be done without Group Policy.
If you can identify which GP is involved, you can use Group Policy Search to find out how to do it via the registry

It may be possible to enable Group Policy on your Home ( I have it on my Windows 7 Home Premium), but nothing is guaranteed. Make sure you have system images in case of any issues. If you are unsure, better not to try.

IE 10 is configured rather differently from the IE of the past. MS sure make life difficult for some of us.

I don't really know the answer for IE10 as older IE 4 to 6 allowed selective browser history deletion.
Older IE 4 to 6 even had dates and time of browsing kept.
Everyone recommends InPrivate Browsing whereas I prefer Google Chrome to allow selective browser history deletion.
However, Google Chrome only keeps 30 days of history, after that auto delete the history.

Thank you for your reply. I'm currently searching through EightForums as well. I didn't even know it existed. :) I downloaded the Enable Group Policy file but it kept saying it was invalid when I would try to extract it so no luck there. I will check out the Group Policy Search too. Thank you very much.

What does one do with the history that is saved?
To be honest, unless I think there may be a better way to accomplish what they want, I just try to help them with their inquiry. As long as it isn't illegal, or going to put them at great risk. I may throw in a warning, but why people do things is up to them. A Guy

I for one, wants to save browser history. I want to keep visiting some sites and lazy to keep remembering the url. I used to write the url in a book, now I am so lazy to keep remembering the url. I just relied on the browser history. Usually IE browser can be adjusted to keep the history but I am not sure about FF and Google chrome can do the same.
