    slow internet

    Hi
My system is over all very fast but when it comes to browsing it has become very slow for past 1 month, I have fast fiber optic broad band and on speed test its showing 59 bps up and 20 bps down. but any web site i open like ebay it takes ages to upload. I have tried on chrome, ie and firefox. Same result on all. I know its slow because it was very fast and I can tell the difference now. Please suggest me if theres some thing I can do.
    kind regards

Run maintenance tools? Such as, Disk Cleanup, CCleaner, and Auslogics Disk Defrag

Run Antivirus, Malware, and Spyware scans?

During diagnostics, it would be better to remove additional browsers.

Keeping Internet Explorer 10. Next, try an IE Browser Reset

For now, do not enable Browser add-ons.

If Browser speed has improved, run Windows Update and make sure it's current.

Which Internet Security do you use? Antivirus, Firewall?

I have avast as my anti virus but I havnt run a scan yet, I have not done disk cleanup but did defrag about 2 months ago, I have samsung ssd as my OS drive so system is running fast enough. I am using google chrome because I was told its best speedwise, So you suggest that I should use IE 10 and also run do a reset on IE as well?
    cheers

Since you have an SSD, you do not need to defrag. I assumed you had an SATA HDD.

Google Chrome is fine. However, I would still go into IE and do a reset. Then setup your home page. Keep add-ons disabled. You can then do the same for Google Chrome. Reset may eliminate the possibly the browser is causing the issue. Disabling add-ons will eliminate their possibility as being the culprit.

Everyone has there own idea of what browser is best. Use the one you feel most comfortable with. Google Chrome is good.

What were the approximate upload and download speeds before the speed slowdown? I see you stated earlier your speed test showed 59 Mbps up and 20 Mbps down. Readings look reversed and are far apart.

If you have not done so already, unplug modem/router for 1 minute, plug back in and test speed. Any change?

Let us know once you have completed all suggested scans, reset your Browsers, ran Windows Updates, and reset your Internet equipment.
