Recover lost Windows Live Mail messages.

Last week Windows 7 failed to boot and the error message said bootmgr missing. I tried to resolve this using both a Windows 7 repair disc and the original Windows 7 installation disc, but eventually had to resort to a system restore which solved the boot problem.
According to what I read only the Windows system should be affected by this and, indeed, all of my documents and programmes are unaffected. Windows Live Mail Does not appear to be part of the Windows system as it has to be installed separately. Despite ths the Windows Live Mail Messages downloaded since the restore point are missing. There are lots of hints on how to recover deleted Windows Mail messages but I can find nothing on recovering lost(undeleted) messages
Is it possible to recover these?

    Hi smcc42,
Your messages should still be on your Servers.

And by this he means your email is still on the the providers page.

for example if you use comcast or aol, if you go their websites and log in you will still see your mail.
There are some configurations where email is stored on your computer, but most of the time its both the computer and server.

Recent messages are still on the mail server. Unfortunately earler messages have been deleted. I am using a POP account in Windows Live Mail and downloaded messages are usually stored on my SSD.

I don't see the point in having messages on a pc's hdd. All mine are saved by Gmail, so I can delete them from WLM without loosing any.

The deleted emails are not the problem. I detest using web mail and prefer to keep the messages that I have read and want to keep in WLM. In future I will also leave them on my email server.
What really annoys me is that Microsoft claims that a system restore affects only the Windows system and therefore should not affect Live Mail.

Then, the best you can do is WLM Export.pdf on a regular basis.

Why not just type it in the body of the post, or create a tutorial, instead of using .pdf attachments?
