I just formatted my windows 7 build 6801 and installed build 7000 and I have just restored my profile and plugins, everything from my previous windows install but when trying to start firefox from the startmenu nothing happens untill i right click and choose run as administrator and it seems i have to do this each time i want to start firefox, how do i fix this?

How did you install it, run as admin?

Could it have anything to do with restoring you former profile?

I'm not sure, i found that many had experienced the same problem and i doubt all of them restored their profile.

I don't think i installed with admin rights but i fixed it by simply disabling the UAC

I just installed FF when I first installed 7 and just replaced the new profile with my old one in appdata/roaming/mozilla/firefox/profiles. Deleted the new one, put in my old one and changed it in configuration settings in the notepad with my old profile name and saved it and it works just fine without any needed admin rights.

thats what i did, atleast i think so, i've done it so many times, even in windows 7 build 6801 which didn't give me any hassle.

Everytime I've done it like that, I have no problems afterwards, wouldn't hurt to try it all over again from the firefox install.

    Hi premier69

Check your security permissions in your profile folder you need your login to have full rights to access and modify entries, you may find that one or more files has lost the required rights.

I keep my profile separate from my system drive and pint the program to the profile after each install but have to a full rights for my user to it to work
