My issues with Flash have been on-going, the issues kept returning. Eventually I detected a pattern (I work on 3 computers with four OS's), where the sound was usually the first thing to stop working. I checked out my hardware drivers, and noticed that I have two HD Audio Devices, one labeled Realtek (which it is) and one seemingly generic. Disabling the generic one seems to have resolved the problem. I haven't updated drivers for this but they appear to be the latest so I think they may have been auto-updated.
NOTE - An update for Adobe Flash Player is expected by November 9, 2010. Adobe Reader and Acrobat 9.4 are expected to be updated during the week of November 15, 2010.
More -Summary
A critical vulnerability exists in Adobe Flash Player 10.1.85.3 and earlier versions for Windows, Macintosh, Linux and Solaris operating systems; Adobe Flash Player 10.1.95.2 and earlier versions for Android; and the authplay.dll component that ships with Adobe Reader 9.4 and earlier 9.x versions for Windows, Macintosh and UNIX operating systems, and Adobe Acrobat 9.4 and earlier 9.x versions for Windows and Macintosh operating systems.
This vulnerability (CVE-2010-3654) could cause a crash and potentially allow an attacker to take control of the affected system. There are reports that this vulnerability is being actively exploited in the wild against Adobe Reader and Acrobat 9.x. Adobe is not currently aware of attacks targeting Adobe Flash Player.

No mention made about whether this will effect those running IE9 beta and have the version compatible with that running.

Adobe has accelerated the previously announced Flash Player patch schedule and the fix for an actively exploited critical vulnerability is expected to land tomorrow.
Last Thursday, independent security researchers reported that a new Flash Player zero-day flaw might be actively exploited in attacks, which infect users with malware.
Adobe later confirmed the existence of the vulnerability (CVE-2010-3654) and posted a security advisory.
At the time, the company also announced plans to make a patch available during the week of November 9.
However, the advisory has since been updated. "We are in the process of finalizing a fix for the issue and expect to provide an update for Flash Player 10.x for Windows, Macintosh, Linux and Solaris by November 4, 2010," it now reads.
The Flash Player for Android patch schedule remains unchanged, with a fixed version expected to ship sometime next week.
Adobe can't compare with Mozilla, which recently managed to push a fix for an actively exploited Firefox vulnerability in less than 48 hours, but one week is still a significant improvement.
Unfortunately, tomorrow's release doesn't resolve the problem, because the Flash interpreter in Adobe Reader and Acrobat is also vulnerable to the same flaw.

Don't know if the the main download links have been updated yet on the Adobe site but users of Google Chrome now have the updated version of Adobe Flash Player - Version 10.1.103.19.
Edit: Just checked & both installers have been updated to Version 10.1.102.64

I just downloaded both ActiveX and plugin, from two different links, and uninstalled/installed, and they are still the old version 10.1.85.3.
Even though it says the new version (10.1.102.64) on the site.
Edit -
Both are now updated..this time for real now.

Looks like the Firefox one has been updated. Just installed and it shows the new version in FF addons/plugins.

Ok, yeah, must have just been uploaded this minute for me after you posted. Someone was asleep at the wheel uploading them.
Thanks.
