I used the "Check What Version..." button in the 'top post.' (I don't understand why it is dated 04 Nov 2008 but announces:
Version: 15.0.0.189
Date Released: October 15th 2014


I navigated to the last page and found this opportunity to reply here.

told me that I had version 15,0,0,152 for Firefox installed. I asked that it be updated and it took me through what seemed like a slow download and install routine. I ended up here in an IE 11 window:

The 'Java(tm) Plug-In SSV Helper' add-on from 'Oracle America, Inc.' is ready for use.



and asked if I wanted to enable or disable.


I thought I'd downloaded Adobe Flash not Java. I also passed on the 'opportunity' to include a McAfee 'Security Scan Plus' product but saw nothing about a Google toolbar.


Why can't the process of downloading and installing an update be a simple process to download and install the offered update?


If Adobe knew I use FireFox (SeaMonkey) as my browser why did it open IE 11?


Is the 'Java(tm) Plug-In SSV Helper' software important or just bloatware that came with this update without an opt-in/opt-out?

I found it's easiest and safest to go directly to Adobe - Install Adobe Flash Player and just uncheck any offered add-ons (middle section.) Doesn't matter if you're updating IE or Firefox, this website will automatically recognize which browser you're updating and install the correct version.

Stage3D - Standard Constrained Profile

In version 14 of the Runtime we added the new Standard profile to desktop systems. In Version 15 we expanded that to mobile devices in AIR. In Flash Player 16 we've added a new Standard Constrained profile. Like Baseline Constrained, Standard Constrained targets older and lower powered GPUs on both desktop and mobile devices. While Standard profile reached ~21% of iOS devices, Standard Constrained can now reach more than 85%. Developers can access this by using the new STANDARD_CONSTRAINED constant in Context3DProfile. The chart below breaks down the differences between the different profiles that are available.

PPAPI Installers for Windows and Mac

We're pleased to announce that we now have PPAPI installers for the standard version of Flash Player for Windows and Mac. Previously, this version of the Player was available only as an integrated component of Google Chrome. With the introduction of these installers, Flash Player is now available for all Chromium based browsers using the PPAPI interface. Please note that these installers are not required nor used by Google Chrome. Chrome will continue to include Flash Player without requiring any additional installation.

Both the standard and content debugging versions of the PPAPI installers are now available on Adobe Labs | Previews, prereleases and beta software from Adobe.

FSCommand change for Internet Explorer - Extended Beta

This feature changes Flash Player’s handling of the FSCommand for Internet Explorer (IE) version 11 running in Edge mode. Currently, the method of invoking Flash Player FSCommand differs between that for IE and that for non-IE browsers. For IE, Flash Player fires a registered event handler for FSCommand; For non-IE browsers, a corresponding JavaScript callback function is invoked. This change will directly invoke the JavaScript callback function for FSCommand With IE 11, as is done for non-IE browsers, rather than use the event handling method.

Testing Focus:

If your website utilizes FSCommand and you encounter problems with Internet Explorer, please let us know ASAP on our beta forums.

I don't know if it's Flash, Microsoft, or YouTube, but as of this latest update, YouTube has become completely unusuable for me.

DASH playback is being horrible and completely broken and any YT videos pause about every ten seconds because of buffering issues - the plugin seems to take forever to launch in Firefox (on my PC at work) and tends to crash a lot in IE (on my home laptop).

I wish Flash would die already, seriously.

Yep, got them just before install the today's Patch Tuesday...Adobe reader had its own too v11.0.10!
