Latest Version of Adobe Flash Player

I have my Flash set to notify me when an update is available, as opposed to the alternatives which are (1) allow it to update automatically and (2) don't ever check for updates. Despite this, the only notification I ever get of a new update is this thread. At least SOME things in this world work as they're supposed to.

Same here.

I personally don't use any Auto Updates for anything. I don't like things sneaking into my computer without my permission. One just has to remember to check for updates manually. After a short period of time it becomes second nature to check for updates.

Same here. I will let programs check for updates but only let them notify me when there is one, Then I choose my time to download and install them.

Adobe has fixed the exploit in 16.0.0.287 and an update will be available soon.

UPDATE (January 24): users who have enabled auto-update for the Flash Player desktop runtime will be receiving version 16.0.0.296 beginning on January 24. This version includes a fix for CVE-2015-0311. Adobe expects to have an update available for manual download during the week of January 26, and we are working with our distribution partners to make the update available in Google Chrome and Internet Explorer 10 and 11.

I agree the frequent updates are a nuisance but I'm glad they are there instead of Adobe waiting longer to update, leaving us more vulnerable to malware for a longer period of time.
