This workaround should not be needed as this update is suppose to fix the crashing problem.

I have not seen this problem on my systems so can't tell if it is fixed.
Solution 1: Update to Flash 11.3.300.262 (released June 21) Adobe has just released an update that they believe fixes this issue.

just updated and now there are no youtube vids showing, i know if i disable the realplayer download button in ff extensions it will play again ,but i want both to work .
so roll back time.

yeah thanks, im currently using the previous flash, which works fine with realplayer download button. so until they fix it im keeping things as they are.

I am still suffering with IE, still being told incorrect version of Flash.
IE installed Ver.9.0.8112.16421 Up Date Ver. 9.0.7 (KB2699988) Cipher Strength 256bit.
O/S 64bit win7 Ultimate
I'm like that Oozlum bird going around in ever decreasing circles, I have installed Opera and it works fine but it is not for me, so I uninstalled it. I have tried reinstalling IE but it tells me I have a newer version installed.
What version does IE report?

What is saying incorrect version of flash? A certain website? What is the exact error?

That's a different issue, Jim. That has to do with a conflict between RealPlayer & Flash. I don't know if I ever had the conflict because the first I knew of it was the day a FFx update got automatically pushed out to my system from the Mozilla folks that disabled part of the RealPlayer plugin.
The problem I am commenting on is the one where Flash things refuse to play. It's not really a crash. Videos just silently don't play. I think it was a good 5 days that I thought there was some transient problem with the web sites I was visiting before I finally did some research & found out about this new Protected Mode thing in Flash.
When I posted last night, I had tested this latest Flash 11.3.300.262 with a mms.cfg file that did not have the line that suppresses Protected Mode. Flash did not play videos. So I reinstated the line & poof, videos started playing. So as far as I can tell, the only thing Protected Mode protects against is playing Flash videos at all. I guess they can't hurt you if they don't play. Must be Adobe's definition of protection . . .
After reading the Adobe site, I see you are correct. It seams Protected Mode and Real Player don't get along and that problem is not fixed. The update was for another problem with lots of crashing. I don't have Real Player on my system so have not seen any problems with FF 13.0.1 and Flash.
