    These constant updates are, as a previous poster said, a right PITA. Fed up with everything updating all of the time. Difficult to keep ontop of it all, plus you can't help worry that these 'updates' break something. Flash player has been garbage since circa 11.6. Their forums are awash with complaints about poor video performance and stuttering. Wish they'd just leave it alone. Trouble is you have to update as many sites will no doubt throw a tantrum that your not on the latest version. Hopefully HTML5 video will in years to come render Flash obsolete!

    i, for one, like the rapid updates; if there is a fix or improvement, why hold it back weeks? you can always set your installation to manual rather than auto and then update on whatever schedule your are comfortable with. i set it to auto update and just check this thread occasionally.

    For those wondering why/if they should update...

    This excellent post by quietman7 @Bleepingcomputer.com explains why quite nicely IMHO:

    Why you should update

    Older versions of of popular software such as Adobe (Acrobat Reader, Flash Player, Shockwave Player), Java, Windows Media Player, Web Browsers are vulnerable to exploits and should be kept updated. There are serious security issues with older versions which can increase the risk of system infection. Infections spread by malware writers and attackers exploiting unpatched security holes or vulnerabilities in older versions. Software applications are a favored target of malware writers who continue to exploit coding and design vulnerabilities with increasing aggressiveness.

    The majority of computers get infected from visiting a specially crafted webpage that exploits one or multiple software vulnerabilities. It could be by clicking a link within an email or simply browsing the net, and it happens silently without any user interaction whatsoever.

    Flash Player 13.0.0.154 Beta

    New and Updated Features:

    Enhanced Supplementary Character Support for TextField

    Characters from the Basic Multilingual Plane (BMP) with Unicode code points between U+10000 and U+10FFFF nowl work correctly in TextField controls. This change greatly enlarges the code point range we support, and now includes characters like emoticons and complex CCJK characters.
    Relocated Full Screen Video Warning to Top of Screen

    We've made a small tweak to the "Press Esc to exit full screen mode" warning that is displayed for full screen video. We've received a lot of feedback from developers because the dialog obscures content, and we wanted to make a change that both satisfies security concerns and customer viewing enjoyment. To reduce the impact of the dialog on the on-screen content, we've moved the dialog to the top of the screen.

    New Stage3D Texture Wrapping Modes

    Developers can currently set the wrapping mode of a texture to either clamp or repeat. Using the repeat option will repeat the texture on both the U and V axis. However, in some use cases, you may only want to repeat the texture on either the u or v axis.

    This is now possible with the introduction of two new parameters:
    REPEAT_U_CLAMP_V and CLAMP_U_REPEAT_V
    Stage3D Anti-Aliasing for Texture Rendering

    Anti-Aliasing is a useful for improving perceived image quality. Hardware based Multisampling Anti-Aliasing (MSAA) is now available on all desktop platforms. To enable MSAA, set the level from 0 to 4 using the new Context3D.setRenderToTexture() method.

    0 = 1 subsample, no antialiasing

    1 = 2 subsamples, minimal antialiasing

    2 = 4 subsamples, medium high-quality antialiasing

    3 = 8 subsamples, high-quality antialiasing

    4 = 16 subsamples, very high-quality antialiasing

    Testing Guidance:

    We're looking for feedback on stability and compatibility with existing content on these new platforms.

    Fixed Issues:

    [Chrome Mac][HTTP Live Streaming] Resolves an issue where enabling the ABR switch caused flickering (3714236)
    [Safari 7] ProductManager.isAllowed() now returns the correct value (3712302)
    [HTTP Live Streaming] Switching from an Audio-only stream to an Audio/Video stream now works as expected (3711206)
    Multiple stability and security fixes

    Known Issues:

    The playerglobal.swc file is missing the created, accessed, and modified date/time stamps. This will be corrected in the next build. Please note that the contents of the file have been verified and are correct, the only issue is with the date/time stamp.
       Note

    The ActiveX Flash Player in this release is not compatible with Windows® 8
    Flash Player for Windows® 8 is available as part of the generally available Windows® 8 update

    On the Standalone Full Install link page the exe version IE is still the 70 ver and not 77. They will probably correct it soon but just be aware.
